Dog-Training Services

Training is really about building a relationship with your dog so that you can both enjoy each other. In our sessions, you two will learn how to speak each other’s language. We’ll use science-based training techniques in a fun way—with play, treats and affection! We’ll find out what motivates your dog most, and he’ll be eager to try new behaviors—behaviors you actually want to see. Believe it or not, these techniques have been proven over and over to be the most effective way to train your dog. We’ll work with your schedule so that training is quick and easy and fits into your daily routine. You’ll learn the tools you need to make training 100% doable—and fun!

Once you and your dog understand each other, you’ll see a lot more of the behaviors you value. And you’ll get to see your dog having fun, focusing better and feeling calmer. Even dogs who may be reactive, fearful or timid are not abnormal—they just have different needs. And they’re often very quick learners with the right training approach.

Rescue Me Canine Education provides private, in-home dog-training sessions. At our first session, we’ll discuss your goals and develop a training plan to meet them. I’ll recommend the number of training sessions that we’ll likely need in order to see the most progress. Often, it’s most cost-effective to choose one of the training packages below.

Each dog-training package includes:

  • Professional dog assessment and observation notes

  • Quick, easy training exercises to get you started practicing new behaviors

  • Complete, prioritized dog-training plan

  • Step-by-step instructions and daily schedule for dog-training exercises emailed to you after each visit

  • List of quality resources for puzzle toys, books, CDs, etc.

  • Expert training handouts to help you understand your dog’s behavior

  • Free phone and email consultations between scheduled appointments

Package of 60-minute sessions: Pricing and number of sessions recommended after initial assessment at first appointment. 10% discount when total package price is paid at first appointment!

In-home Dog Training

"Working with Gayle to get our very shut-down foster dog ready for adoption has been exceptional. We had tried several other trainers, but his issues were becoming worse. We were about ready to have him placed in another home. Gayle’s positive training approach has made such a huge difference—we now have a happy, confident, loving, adoptable pooch. Gayle is always available to address our concerns and shares material to keep us moving in the right direction. With her guidance, we feel confident taking in another dog who has a difficult past to save the life of a shelter dog. We couldn’t be happier!”

Highly Recommended!

"Not only is Gayle extremely knowledgeable, but she ‘trains’ the owners as well as the dog! Her technique is to make sure the owner understands the simplicity of the dog’s mind with relatable analogies. She trained our unruly 1-year-old rescue dog to sit within minutes. We have an entirely new approach to training thanks to her, and it’s working! We highly recommend Gayle for any dog-training situation.”
